For the first time ever, we are taking stands at the InstallerSHOW in June 2024 and the Resource & Waste Management Expo in September 2024.
Tom Blumsom, Lister's head of IoT, explained that Lister would be focussing on three areas - multi-network SIMS, managed tablets and 5G router solutions.
Tom said: "The InstallerSHOW is going to be attended by plumbers, electricians, solar panel installers, that sort of thing. Essentially, the managed tablets are our focus for those guys.
"If you imagine a plumber going out to the site and taking a tablet with him. That tablet isn't something you just get off Amazon - it is supplied by us. It is preconfigured and has all the apps loaded on it.
"The plumber goes out to site, he does the job and he can issue the safety and gas certificates from site, he can invoice and it basically lets them do everything they can and gets rid of the paperwork and speeds everything up.
"There are massive benefits and efficiencies. They use multi-network SIMS so they work anywhere and you don't have to switch between O2, Vodafone and EE.
"That's the kind of thing we're looking to push - the managed connectivity and digital transformation journey for those people in the industry."
As for the Resource & Waste Management Expo, although it's a different kind of audience, we're looking to promote a similar product set.
"We've got people like Dundas Transport who have drivers driving around with tablets all over England and Scotland," added Tom. "With multi-network SIMS, their drivers can do vehicle reporting and proof of delivery signatures. It lets them update orders, all that kind of stuff."
